Usually the weekends are kind of quiet on the boards, not so this past one ^^ Maybe it was a global weather-system making us all go stormy or what, jumping on every possible tiny disagreement or gloomy feeling. I generally love a ruckus, so i enjoyed myself :)
But not too much as my eye-problem had gotten to a “low” – or do you say “high”? – and i had to refrain from a lot of reading. Luckily my new found cooperation with the Tavern Times crew allows me to bring you some more of the news then i otherwise might have. (The Tavern Times is tri-weekly published inside the Tavern on the general Mousehunt Discussion Boards.)
Here is some news and further titbits from the Mousehunt-World:
* In case you missed it somehow: Back To School Sale!
All of a sudden there was this long-weekend sb+ sale, complete with a banner and a nice little ribbon around the Donate button. The prices have been slashed 15% for the same quantities that were available before. I had thought that you would get 15% more cheese for the same dollar amounts as before, but it’s the other way round.|
Still going for a few hours after this publication! Ticker news says: Back to School sale ends on Monday at 5pm EDT! [:o Yikes, ehm, that must be about 21 or 22 gtm.] Don’t miss out. Get your SB+ on Sale now!
Official newspost about the sale: http://apps.facebook.com/mousehunt/newspost.php?news_post_id=28
* FBF … oops
Your reporter has some healthproblems (mainly to do with eyes) and thus was not on duty when FBF arrived. In short: i missed it. So i cant say anything about it. And sorry to be late-ish with this, but Jeremiah M. has something to tell you about it:
==== Forum Features: What’s keeping hunters busy? ====
* Scrap Metal as a Gift? …a Red Herring?
News about the possible future option of gifting scrap to other hunters, out of last Friday’s FBF, was a major concern to many hunters. One of us expressed it and at the same time summarized the concerns like this: “I saw it, and a little part of me died inside. This is yet another highly controversial move.”
The concerns were soon to be countered by information through official canals. Moderator Michele confirmed this: “There will be a cap on how many gifts you can give and on how many you can receive a day”. Meaning that it would still take months to get enough scrap for the MSB. She added: “We all know change can be scary for people, having found comfort in the way things are. Hunters were speculating themselves into a bit of a tizzy over something that has not yet been released. To make the MSB a hunter will need sixty days/2 months to collect the scraps from gifts.”
Ehm, please heed this advice of hers too:“If anyone asks you directly for scrap as a gift just send them a slap cat :)”
And if that doesn’t help, I would add a not so fresh herring there ^^
* Got a wiped Cork? Get it back!
It started with somebody complaining that her cork was blank again. Then Michele the mod and support-person showed up and restored that cork. Now its growing into THE place to be when you miss your cork posts: just stand in line and ask olitely for her help, and all will be well! :)
* Majority of MH Players are 4th Generation
Yes, yes I know, a so-called Necrobump has brought this to our attention. But still, a good idea is a good idea and an amazing thread is an amazing thread and worth writing about!Half a year ago, Andrew W. has developed a way to rank players according to when they started playing. The system is based on Ronza’s visits and certain events, specifically the Great Winter Hunt ‘09. He revised the system and added actual starting dates for the different generations, making it very easy to rank yourself. MouseHunters have been reporting their rank of generation, and this all added up to 10 pages of generation-posts. A famous elephant – more or less without a job these days – did the number-crunching work for us and these are the results:
5% are first generation
10% are second generation
10% are third generation
30% are fourth generation
25 % are fifth generation
20% are sixth and current generation
Now of course we wondered, “Why doesn’t the percentage grow with each generation?” … The most probable answer is because the amount of new players adding the application is decreasing. Sad news, I know, and hopefully we can do something to change the tides?
Go take a look, and do still rank yourselves if you wish:
==== Rumours, Opinions … and Stories ====
* Tourney Lovers Feel the Pain
The pain sounds something like this: “I know its ‘being worked on’ but MH is dying for me without tournaments :/ Don’t Die on me, Mousehunt!”
It may not true for everybody, but many hunters miss the Tourneys. Brandt P., your name has been listed to “the list” of those wanting tournaments to return! According to Brandt, the cry-out like above, is meant to be: “More of a reflection on all the fun we have had and are looking forward to, I guess the title is a little misleading because I still play the game and enjoy it, but just in a different way than before :)”
* Somebody gotta Light? ^^
Please dont forget! not too long ago it was us and our tedious trying – some hunters still need that Lantern!
If you are in that boat and seriously missing all the embers? Go get your whine here:
* Last but not Least:
The Weather Report ….w/ Drrags
In the region of Gnawnia, we can see blue skies. These will be continuing and the temps staying in the mid 70’s throughout the rest of the week.
For those of you in the Whisker Woods area, you can expect a morning fog on your way to your hunting spots. Be careful not to step in a trap yourself as this fog will limit visibility. The fog should clear by mid morning.
Up in the Isles we are still seeing some residual effects on the tide and the waters are extremely still while the moon is passing through the Virgo constellations. Take advantage of this for your hunting in Balack’s Cove as the tides could return unexpectedly.
Over in the Seasonal Gardens, you might want to grab your Shadow Trap and watch the leaves turn with a nice sweater and some cocoa as fall is just around the day. I might point out that fall is a Western term and autumn is the word most might recognize.
In the Bazaar, I’m afraid you’re going to have to deal with the smell of the graveyard a little longer as it looks like those winds coming from the West are not letting up. There is a 10% chance they will change and then come from the North, letting you smell the Laboratory instead.
Thanks and remember,
A blown horn is a wet horn, and a wet horn can rust- so wipe it down once in awhile.

# Anybody who has news or wants to write a (fluffy) piece but not a whole Mibbler, can send the copy or the idea, or even just the interesting thread-adress… to my pm-box :)
# No News, no Mibbler, as there is a a very strong-headed non-fluff person on the board of advisors.
# No Fluff, well – we have to warn you here – but in case of no fluff we might accidentally still post a Mibbler with strong warnings of putting on your sunglasses first before reading.
# If no crew: no Mibbler. Which is really really sad. Luckily there’s always the possibility of posting your news or newsrelated question in the last Mibbler’s thread.
